Designed with LOVE: Uplifting one another
Written by Elevation
The need to connect with others has never felt stronger, not only on a creative level, but on a personal level as well. With most of us working from home for the past 6+ months, life as a creative can feel a little lonely and certainly isolating right now (even with daily Zoom or conference calls). Created by artist Drew Borders, the newest piece for our designed with LOVE initiative represents that desperately needed energy of coming together right now.
As much as we call our nerdy design-selves introverts, we do miss the creative team meetings over coffee from the local coffee shop. The laughter that can often be found echoing throughout the walls of the office. The afternoon beers we crack open, cheers together, and pound out the last of a project for the day. Or yes, even the random tree falling outside the building that brings the whole neighborhood together.
Beyond our immediate team, we know the need to be together (please not literally) but figuratively right now is ever-pressing. Humans are meant to come together to solve problems, to support and care for one another, and to create better lives together.
"If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else." – Booker T. Washington"
We worked with local artist Drew Borders to create our next 'Designed with LOVE' design. Her meaning behind it feels absolutely perfect and what we all needed to hear right now. This design celebrates the practice of uplifting one another and moving through hardships together, one step at a time.
As a quick reminder of how our long-term passion project works:
- We work with artists to create t-shirt designs that are all about love
- These designs are sold on our Threadless shop & every dollar that Elevation would have made will be donated to an Endowed Scholarship for Black Students at SCAD
- Through this endowed scholarship, we can help contribute to providing a career path in art & design for a minority student
We are all artists. We believe that art is one of the strongest unifying forces in the world. To experience someone’s art is to see the world through their eyes. To experience empathy. That’s why it’s so important to amplify underrepresented voices and promote diversity in the arts. Through art, love and compassion can grow. Hopefully, we can help create a better society built on that love and compassion.
